Karanambo Ranch

KARANAMBO RANCH is located in the north Rupununi between the Pakaraima and Kanuku Mountains . The ranch has a community feeling with accommodation in individual palm thatched twin bedded huts shaded by huge mango trees. Each has a bathroom and a verandah. Enjoy your delicious meals of local fare and international favorites in a family type atmosphere in the open hammock-swagged living room of the main house.

Activities include: Rewarding fishing on the river (including Peacock Bass) or try Simoni Pond, arguably Guyana's best inland fishing. Birdwatching at Crane Pond or view the picturesque Giant Water Lilies. Explore the savannahs, forest, river and creeks on foot or by boat with a guide. Swimming - alone or with otters. Watch vacqueros work or join them for some horse-riding on the range. Spot Black Caiman or the Arapaima - the largest fresh water fish in the world.

Note: During the wet season (June - August) transport is predominantly by boat through the flooded forest and the water birds have a nursery nearby.
