Dadawana Ranch
DADANAWA, Guyana's largest working cattle ranch, covers 2,000 miles of the southern Rupununi and enjoys a wonderful vista of the Kanuku Mountains. The hardy barefoot vacqueros, the several Amerindian villages on the ranch and the other personalities of Dadanawa make this Guyanese Wild West experience a unique one. The ranch and bunk houses are built on stilts and offer fabulous views of this big sky land and the distant mountains. At the ranch or while camping out on the range, beside a river or in the mountains, evenings have a tone of relaxed camaraderie fueled by sumptuous meals with Amerindian, regional and international flavor.
